Biomedical Sciences

The mission of the Department of Biomedical Sciences (DSB) is to promote knowledge on the fundamental mechanisms governing physiological and pathological aspects in living organisms, starting from basic research in Life Sciences to end with the study of specific human diseases and *the development of *innovative therapeutic interventions. In the last years much attention of the research in the DSB has been concentrated on the relative role of genetic and environmental factors (nutrition in particular) on human health (successful aging) and in common diseases such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes and cancer. dsb.cnr.it
