The FOOD project, born in the context of a collaboration between the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies - Semantic Technology Laboratory - and the Agency for Digital Italy, aims at identifying standard models and ontologies for the semantic representation of the contents of policy documents on agricultural products quality. The policy documents are released by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and are currently available under the form of PDF files. Starting from the policy documents and identified models and ontologies, the project aims at producing open data in the form of Linked Data, using semantic Web standards (e.g, RDF, etc), and at publishing the data for the reuse by anyone through a technical infrastructure provided by the Agency for Digital Italy.
